YCP MP Raghurama Krishnamaraju penned a letter to the Prime Minister, including media reports that MP Nandigam Suresh had given over Rs 40 lakh for the construction of a church. The Center asked the AP government and Chief Secretary to the State Planning Department to send a comprehensive report on this.

As there is no response from the AP govt, the Union govt incensed.

The central government allocates funds to MPs for constituency development.

Each year these funds can be utilized by MPs for development work in their constituencies. However, there are certain rules that must be followed in order to use these funds.

Raghuram Krishnaraja complained to the Central Government that MPLADS was given for the construction of churches in the Bapatla constituency.

The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) has clarified that there are clear rules that MPLADS funds should not be spent on religious institutions and should not be used for the reconstruction and repair of religious institutions.

If so, there is a possibility of taking action against the MP and recovering the funds.
