Patna : , November 20, 2008 – The divisional commissioner has issued a notification that allows the surveillance of private functions through the use of CCTV cameras.Surprising checking is also possible by high ranking officials from the district.
This was done to strictly implement the liquor ban laws in the state.The state capital Patna will initiate the process and the Home Ministry will recommend its implementation throughout the state.

Sanjay Agrawal (divisional commissioner for Patna) directed officials to initiate the proceedings at a high-level meeting about strict enforcement of Patna’s liquor ban law.

We have instructed all wedding halls, banquet rooms, Dharamshalas, hotels and other establishments to place CCTV cameras at every location to monitor guests’ activities.This is done to prevent violations of alcohol prohibition laws.Agrawal stated that people used to drink liquors in celebrations of marriage or birthday functions.”

In meetings, officials discussed several celebratory firings that occur during marriage, apart from the dances of bar girl girls.

CCTV is a tool that helps to prevent violations.

Agrawal stated that CCTV allows the participants to provide evidence to police in cases of untoward, or even criminal events occurring at private events.

He said, “Moreover, the DSP and SDO rank officers can also conduct surprise raids on marriages or birthday parties in individual homes.”

To avoid being sued, those booking the wedding hall must submit an undertaking in advance.They cannot reserve the halls if they do not sign an undertaking.

They will face legal action if they violate the agreement.He said that we have asked hotel operators to set up toll-free numbers for police control rooms in order to make it easy to contact us.”
