CBI raids on TDP leader’s house

The Central Bureau of Investigation raided at 25 places in AP in connection with an illegal mining case.

Earlier, on August 26, 2020, CBI had registered a case against 17 accused persons over illegal mining, after the Central government approved the State government’s request to take over the case from AP CB-CID.

Consequently, the Central Bureau of Investigation has recently conducted searches at 25 places in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The TDP leader and former MLA of Gurazala Constituency, Yarapatineni Srinivas Rao, is also in the list in connection with the illegal mining case.

The CBI teams have reportedly seized several documents, mobile phones, material objects and cash.The searches went on at 25 places, including the key cities, Guntur and Hyderabad.

The CBI statement says the accused has done illegal mining of several lakh tonnes of limestone from 2014 to 2018.The accused has stolen natural resources worth several crores of rupees in Konanki village of Piduguralla Mandal, Kesanupalli and Nadikudi villages of Dachepalli Mandal, Guntur district, causing severe loss to government revenue.

Right now, the investigation is going on rigorously, and CBI is using satellite imagery to estimate the amount of damage done.
