Mumbai, November 20, : , ‘Cash,’ a comedy about the historic event of demonetization, was recently released on Disney+ Hotstar. In key roles, Amol Parashar and Smriti Kalra play Amol, Kavin, Kavin, Kavin, Gulshan Grover, Swanand Kirkire.
The story follows an entrepreneur who dreams of making it big in the chaos caused by demonetisation.
Smriti Kalra, Amol Parashar and Kavin David spoke to IANS about the film’s purpose and vision.
Amol Parashar is taking the role of the main character for the first time.Amol, an actor who impressed audiences with performances in TVF’s “Tripling” and Alankrita Shrivastava’s “Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare”, feels pressure, but is optimistic that the audience will be appreciative of his efforts.
Amol said, “This is a special time for me.This time the responsibility lies on our shoulders.The film has received our 100%.Rishabh, Aarsh (the filmmakers) always said that it was one of my favorite scripts.
If we do enough justice to the script, then it will be 80 percent.We are keeping our fingers crossed.
Film isn’t based on a fictional past, but a real event that affected all citizens of the country.Smriti recalled the moment and said, “I was alone at the time and when it happened I saw the street crowded with people who ran pillar to post.” Some were receiving triple ration, while others were running to every possible place to buy and cash out old Rs 500 or Rs 1000 notes.
Elle adds that all the money the elderly had saved in their houses over the years was now finding its way to the outside.
You will also see many funny scenes in the movie about places people kept their money.
This movie is a comedy that makes a humorous comment on how people get around checks.
In reality, however, there were many people who had to go through a lengthy exchange process in order to get their money back.
Kavin answers a question about their feelings on the relation between humour and ordeal.
He says that every tragedy contains a bit of humor.Yeah.
This film only shows the tragic events that occur during demonetization.
Smriti says, “The film does not poke fun at what people had to go through during demonetization, but we just present it in a funny way.” The film is about the facts, but in a lighter vein.It also shows what people did to their money during those times.
Amol shares the thoughts of his co-actors when he states, “It has been reported also that more than 90% of money is now back in circulation.This means that people have converted their money.” This is the story of people trying to convert large amounts of money using all their tools.
The film’s characters aren’t bad people.They just try to profit from other people’s difficult situations.It’s not that the people in it are bad.Amol stated that it’s funny how greed can get you in trouble.
