The “Budget Reconciliation” Bill, which is currently troubling expatriates, has moved to the Senate,with only the Senate remaining to approve it.Experts predict that if the bill is approved there, obtaining a visa will place a greater financial burden on visa renewal than ever before.H-1B visa petitions may incur additional charges of up to 500.
The bill stipulates that companies that sponsor visas for employees must pay an additional 800 for such visas, as well as 250 for student visas.This is not to say that their partners who are staying in the US with a visa will also have to pay an additional 500 on them if they apply for permits to work in the US.However, there are charges for students who want to make changes to their visa status, even if they have the option to do so.This applies not only to NRIs but also to companies that employ employees.Companies hire thousands of people on H-1B visas to pay an additional 4,000 per applicant, as well as an additional 2,500 in processing fees.Immigrants are worried about this bill.
