Brasilia : , November 17, 2017 – All Brazilians over 18 years old will be eligible for booster shots against Covid-19 according to Marcelo Queiroga, Brazilian Health Minister. “Thanks to the information we have from scientific studies, we have decided to extend the booster shot to everyone over 18 years of age who received the second dose five months ago,” said Queiroga.Queiroga stated, “We have decided to extend booster shots to all people over 18 who have received the first dose of the booster shot five months ago because we now have the scientific information necessary to do so.”
Prior to the announcement, only people aged over 60 or with a weakened immune system and healthcare workers were eligible to get booster shots, Xinhua news agency reported.According to Xinhua, booster shots were not available to people over 60, those with a weak immune system, and health workers.
