Brasilia (November 20th, IANS) Brazil administered over 300 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines in the first year after it launched its campaign to immunize citizens. Xinhua reported that 157.6 millions people received a dose and 129.8million have been fully vaccinated.This represents 73.3 percent of the targeted population.
Marcelo Queiroga, Health Minister of Brazil, said that this is a significant milestone in the history of the Covid-19 vaccine campaign.
On Friday, the Ministry stated that South America has given more than 360.6 millions vaccines to Brazilian countries.
The government will intensify its efforts to get 85 percent of the population vaccinated on Saturday.
This week, the Ministry made it clear that booster shots are now available for anyone over 18 and 12.7 millions people have received them.
