Silchar, Assam, Nov 16, : .Padma Shri winner JadavPayeng (also known as “Forest Man of India”) suggested Tuesday that border-guarding forces of India, Bangladesh, and Nepal plant trees.
Payeng, who earlier signed an agreement with an NGO to collaborate on environmental projects in Mexico to guide the planting of seven million trees in the North American country, said that if the earth does not survive, how would one protect his country.Payeng signed an agreement to work with an NGO in Mexico earlier in order to help guide planting seven million trees.”Adopting an inclusive planning of plantation drive, para-military forces of both India and Bangladesh can plant thousands of trees on their sides of the border,” Payeng said while addressing in the opening day of the three-day 6th edition of the “Northeast Green Summit”.Payeng spoke during the opening of the six-day edition of “Northeast Green Summit”, a three-day event that included paramilitary forces from India and Bangladesh.

Payeng, 63, had created a record earlier by planting 40 million trees in 30 years and creating a man-made forest and completely changed the barren sandbar of the Brahmaputra covering an area of 550 hectares of land in eastern Assam’s Jorhat district.Payeng (63 years old) had previously set a new record by planting 40,000,000 trees within 30 years.

He also created a manmade forest, and changed the barren Brahmaputra sandbar, which covered an area of approximately 550 hectares in eastern Assam’s Jorhat region.

He told the summit: “A top rank BSF (Border Security Force) officer once came to see my jungle.The summit heard him say that a top-ranking BSF (Border Security Forces) officer had once visited my jungle.I requested him to do something for the earth.He agreed to help the earth.We will live if the earth remains alive.If the earth is still alive, we will all live.I told him if the earth does not survive, how will he save his country?.He asked me how he would save his country if the earth did not die.You have a lot of responsibility and duty towards the earth.”.Your earth duty and responsibility are immense.”

Payeng also advised connecting plantations to children’s education.Payeng advised that children should be educated through plantations.”When a child takes admission in a school, the kid should plant a tree and if the students continue to plant trees, will ensure enough plantation every year and make the children environment-conscious too.In other words, the kid will be responsible for generating the oxygen he or she consumes,” he pointed out.He explained that the child will have to produce the oxygen they consume.

Speaking on the occasion, Lok Sabha member from Silchar, Rajdeep Roy said that the mother earth is the home of the people and there should be a sustainable ecosystem for the future generation.
