Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor recently acquired the remake and dubbing rights of Manju Warrier starrer Malayalam film ‘Prathi Poovankozhi’ in all Indian languages except the original.The film was released last year.
Reportedly, Boney Kapoor is planning to remake the film in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil languages.
Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, ‘Prathi Poovankozhi’ starred Manju Warrier as a woman determined to take revenge on a goon, played by the director, who molested her on a bus.The movie is based on Unni.R‘s short story known as Sankadam who has been credited for the screenplay as well.Apart from directing the film, Rosshan also played the villain in the movie.It also marks his debut as an actor.
In the recent past, Kapoor bought the remake rights of acclaimed Hindi film ‘Pink’.He then produced the Tamil version ‘Nerkonda Paarvai’.
Kapoor is also producing the Telugu remake of this film which is titled ‘Vakeel Saab’, which is yet to be released.The Tamil remake saw Ajith Kumar play the lead role while Pawan Kalyan plays the part in the Telugu remake.Stay tuned for more updates!
