Gurugram, Nov 24, : , Panic gripped Delhi’s Shatabdi express train after Gurugram police received a report about a bomb being put in the train. “The call came in to police control room at 9.45 p.m.Tuesday,” stated Sub-Inspector Ramphal of Gurugram, Incharge Government Railway Police (GRP), station.
The train was traveling from Ajmer to Delhi.All passengers were asked to disembark.
Gurugram Police immediately took action and searched the train with the help of Railway Police, Bomb disposal squad, and other officers.
Ramphal stated that “Standard Operating Procedures” (SOP) were followed.He concluded that the call was a hoax after conducting a thorough search.
An investigation revealed that a mentally disabled man claimed to be calling from Delhi.
“We have located the caller and registered a case under different sections against him.” The official stated that further action would be taken against him.
He added that the train was allowed to depart after nearly two hours of searching.
