BKU National president Naresh Tikait has said that “This issue could have been solved through discussions.Utilizing bulldozers in order to take down suspected illegal constructions, and the slapping of the Gangsters Act on Shrikant Tyagi and the harassment of Tyagi’s family members from the administration was not justified. There is a legitimate method that could have been followed.”

He added, “We demand immediate release of Tyagi (who is in the custody of the judicial system at present) and the revocation of the more serious sections from the FIR that he is facing. This is inhumane.”

In response to a question Naresh Tikait stated, “The Tyagi Samaj will always remain component of BKU.We can’t ignore our supporters. We value women and an honest investigation must be carried out in the case.”

Shrikant went into hiding since he was arrested earlier this month.Police announced a the reward of Rs 25,000 for information regarding Shrikant.

He was detained in Meerut on the 9th of August after a five-day pursuit.
