Naik was the one who, while sitting in BJP headquarters, New Delhi, was informing Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a veteran leader, about the developments in Ayodhya.

In an exclusive interview with IANS Naik talked about what was happening in BJP’s Delhi office December 6, 1992, and shared important information.

A.I was the party’s chief whip at that point.That day, I was keeping a tab with senior party leader Sundar Sing Bhandari
Every development in Ayodhya.

At that time, mobiles and other modes of communication were not available.There weren’t many television channels.

We were able to gather information using landline phones (telephones).

A.A.Vajpayee ji was being purged on the BJP as a source of information and inputs.

Vajpayee Ji held a live press conference the next day, based on all the information.

Q: What information were you getting on December 6, 1992?

A.We were receiving information that party workers and the kar sevaks were reaching Ayodhya.How numerous of them were stopped, where they were stopped, and what Advaniji and other senior leaders of the party said in their address to the public.

We didn’t know that such a thing was possible.Only after Babri Masjid was destroyed, did we get the information.
