Modi meets BJP delegation, demands reopening Kartarpur Corridor

New Delhi, Nov 14, : .A BJP delegation met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday and asked him to reopen Kartarpur’s corridor for the occasion of ‘Guru Nanak Jayanti.’
BJP national general secretaries Tarun Chugh and Dushyant Gautam, Punjab unit president Ashwani Sharma, national spokesperson Sardar R.P.Tarun Chugh, Dushyant Gautam and Dushyant Gautam are national general secretaries of BJP, as well as Ashwani Sharma, president of the Punjab unit, and Sardar R.P., national spokesperson.Singh and youth wing national secretary Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga and other leaders from Punjab.

This delegation was led by Saudan Singh, the BJP’s national vice-president.

The BJP delegation gave a memorandum to the Prime Minister requesting for the reopening of the Kartarpur Sahib corridor, which has been closed since March last year due to Covid-related restrictions.

The memorandum lauded the Prime Minister’s effort for ensuring construction of the corridor, which was neglected by the Congress and other parties.The BJP delegation presented a memorandum asking for the reopening the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor.

This corridor was closed in March 2013 due to Covid-related restrictions.

The memorandum mentioned that the people were expecting the corridor to reopen while the country is moving ahead with the unlock process after vaccinating 110 crore eligible population and when active cases are around 1.35 lakh.According to the memorandum, the people expected the corridor would reopen as the country moves forward with unlocking after vaccinations have been given to 110 crore of eligible citizens and active cases number around 1.35 million.

“On the occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj’s ‘Prakash Parv’ on November 19, we request you to give order to reopen the Kartarpur Sahib corridor.”On the occasion Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj’s ‘Prakash Parv’ on November 19, 2018, we ask you to order the reopening of the Kartarpur Sahib corridor.We have faith that you will act immediately,” it said.

It expressed its faith in the ability to act quickly.

After the meeting, Bagga said that the delegation of Sikh leaders met the Prime Minister and requested to ensure reopening of Kartarpur Sahib corridor which has been closed since last year due to Covid.

Bagga stated that after the meeting, the delegation of Sikh leaders met with the Prime Minister and asked for the reopening Kartarpur Sahib corridor.This corridor was closed last year because of Covid.

“We are hopeful that the Prime Minister will address the demand of Sikh community like he did in the past by ensuring justice to 1984 riots victims,” Bagga said.Bagga stated that he was hopeful that the Prime Minister would address the Sikh community’s demand, much like he did in past years by ensuring justice for 1984 riot victims.

Earlier, SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur and former union minister and Akali Dal leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal had also written to the Prime Minister demanding reopening of Kartarpur Sahib corridor.Earlier, SGPC president Bibi Kaur Kaur and Harsimrat Kaur Badal, former union minister and Akali leader, had written to Prime Minister requesting reopening Kartarpur Sahib corridor.
