New Delhi, Aug 24 : The Supreme Court will on Thursday take up a joint petition by former MP Subhashini Ali, journalist Revati Laul, and Professor.Roop Rekha Verma against the Gujarat government’s decision to give relief to 11 convicts in connection with multiple murders as well as gang-raping pregnant Bilkis Bano in 2002 during the post-Godhra violence.A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice N.V.Ramana and also comprising Justices Ajay and Vikram Nath will consider the petition seeking an order to revoke the remission given to 11 convicts.
A court that is headed by the CJI will also consider the group of petitions for an investigation into the Pegasus snooping investigation, in which an appointed court-appointed panel led by the former apex court judge Justice R.V.Raveendran has submitted an investigation report.
The apex court also will listen in open petitions for review of the PMLA ruling.
A bench, headed by Chief Justice is also expected to issue orders in an inquiry that it has ordered into the Prime Minister’s security breach in Punjab in January.
