Sydney, 21 November : .Former Australia captain Ian Chappell laments that the combination of smaller boundaries and better bats is making it harder for bowlers to be virtual bowlers. The toss has also been criticized by the T20 administrators for not taking the necessary steps to make the format more predictable.
The administrators must find the right balance for bat and ball, and also educate cricket fans about its values.
While it is acceptable for middle deliveries to end up in the stands, a bowler must be very angry when a clear mis-hit continues to reach the ropes.Although this problem does not exist on bigger Australian fields, I am not certain what genius created the absurd combination of smaller boundaries and better bats.
This combination reduces bowlers to virtual machines.This is a grave problem for good bowlers, and must be fixed immediately,” Chappell wrote in his column to ESPNCricinfo Sunday.
Chappell thinks that Australia was fortunate to have won the toss on their behalf, en route to their first ever T20 World Cup Trophy.

In a tournament that was too frequently a “win the coin flip and win the game” event, they were able to win the toss.
“This was one of the biggest flaws of a tournament which achieved quite a bit of success.”
According to the 78-year old, it is crucial that a solution be found to prevent this format becoming predictable.
There is a strong demand for an international T20 tournament with contests among nations.
There is also a growing demand for franchise cricket.This form of cricket has been hugely successful and it’s becoming more popular.
There needs to be an extensive survey about the necessary changes to the T20 format.
Tournaments must include an option to prevent the game from becoming a simple matter of who wins the toss.
Chappell stated that T20 cricket must be balanced in entertainment and tactical terms.
Fans should enjoy both the game of bat and ball and the tactical battles.
They also need to be able to perform well in the field.These features may not be present or are nearly absent, so it is difficult to see the game as a true form of cricket.
