Do you remember the fictitious language spoke by the Kalakeya tribe in ‘Baahubali’? Offcourse everyone who watched Rajamouli’s visual spectacle Baahubali franchise will surely know about the Kiliki language. This widely appreciated and imitated language was created by Tamil popular lyricist and screenwriter, Madhan Karky.
The constructed language gathered its own fan base like the Star Wars Klingon and much like its international counterpart, Kiliki will now have an official transcript and website of its own.Madhan Karky and his team has developed a website to let people learn the language and numerals where the team intends to keep adding to the database for the next 5 years.
Now the latest news is that director SS.Rajamouli will be launching the official website of the Kiliki language – www.kiliki.in.
Designed by Karky Research Foundation and the LIFO team, this website will be accessible from 21st February which turns out to be the International Mother Language Day.
Speaking about the effort that went into creating the language, Madhan Karky said, “For Baahubali, Rajamouli wanted a new lingo for Kalakeya tribe and also said that he didn’t want it sound like any other language. Now, I am putting all my research online so that people can also have fun learning a new language.I am quite thrilled about Rajamouli sir launching the website. This is still an initial stage of research and I hope to continue developing it for another five years.”
Baahubali features Prabhas, Anushka, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah, Ramyakrishna, Sathyaraj, Prabhakar and others.
So how many of you are ready to learn the new language??
