Washington, November 18th : .Axiom Space is a private space habitat company that has revealed a strong microgravity research portfolio in preparation for the first ever private mission to orbit the International Space Station (ISS), which will take place next February. According to the company, approximately 25 experiments will be conducted by the Axiom mission 1 (Ax-1) crew while aboard the ISS.
The critical data gained from these experiments will allow for the expansion of the application of microgravity research into new areas.
It will also pioneer an entirely new phase in microgravity usage among non-governmental entities.This is laying the foundation for low-Earth orbit’s full potential and returning critical discoveries back to Earth.
In a statement, Michael Suffredini (President and CEO at Axiom Space) stated that “Humanity is only scratching the surface of low Earth orbit’s potential to breakthrough innovation.”

Axiom’s Ax-1 mission features a multi-national crew of private astronauts, including Michael Lopez-Alegria, Axiom’s commander and former NASA astronaut, as well as three customers that each paid $55 millions.
Larry Connor is an American activist investor, Mark Pathy is a Canadian investor, and Eytan Stebbe an Israeli investor, and ex-fighter pilot, are the customers.A SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule, which Axiom bought in March 2020 from SpaceX Crew Dragon, will transport the crew to orbital laboratory.
Connor’s experiment would give data about space travel’s effect on senescent cell — old cells that can no longer divide or grow — and the health of your heart.Also, it will provide information on the effects spaceflight has on spine and brain tissue.
Pathy has created a two-way Holoportation app that uses special lenses to receive two-way 3D projections and holograms in order for users to interact remotely.Pathy plans to also lead Earth observation activities in order to analyze the effects of urbanisation and climate change.
Stibbe is currently on a mission called “Rakia”, after the dome (atmosphere), created by God the second day following the firmament.It protects all life on Earth.
Stibbe will conduct scientific experiments, as well as educational and artistic activities in order to bring together the young generation of Israel and the rest of the world on the principles and values that promote peace, innovation, and social responsibility.
Mike Suffredini (former ISS Programme Manager at NASA) founded Axiom in 2016.
His ultimate goal is to build private space stations for research purposes.
