Actors Performance:

We get to see Nagashaurya throughout the movie. He has been successful in playing a class role, as opposed to mass.Emotion and aggression are the main traits of his character in Aswathama, and the actor fails to deliver the good.If a genuine mass hero had attempted this script, the scenes would have come more convincingly.

It is thumbs down as far as Nagashaurya’s performance is concerned.

Once again Mehreen Pirzaada, the lead actor opposite Nagashaurya is limited for glamour.

Apart from her skin show in the oddly-placed songs, one cannot recollect seeing her in scenes that had weight and depth. The rest of the characters played by some senior character artists, and the upcoming ones played to their part.Nothing exceptional to be noted.

Technical:

The songs in the film can be skipped without hesitation. The film had two music directors; Sricharan for songs, and Ghibran for background score. While the songs feel like mini-intervals, the background score fails to bring the anticipated elevation.

The stand out among the crew is Manojh Reddy for his camera work. The chasing scenes have been captured well, and more is yet to come from him.Editing has been sloppy and patchy.
Few action scenes could be trimmed further, and a couple of over-drama emotional scenes should have been chopped off.The production values of the film are good, and on-par with star hero films.
Director should have worked hard on the script, and screenplay.

A layer of entertainment could have been added to the theme of the film.Few shoots needed a retake.

Analysis:

The theme and the core plot is something new as Nagashaurya promised right from the beginning. But the way it has been handled is quite disappointing.

The inexperience of Nagashaurya as a writer is evident, and he has a long way to go before he pens a blockbuster movie story.A couple of twists at the right time could have taken the film to the next level.

The director also relied on an orthodox screenplay.
Despite the story providing enough scope for a unique narration, the director chose not to give a shot.

The choice of Nagashaurya as the lead for the movie arises, given his soft features for a hard-hitting character. In a few scenes, he is seen trying way too hard to bring out an emotion, thereby losing the shape of the character.

His looks, body language, and vocals don’t support a mass avatar on any given day.
Even though a hint of positive response is received, the movie surely lacks the lustre and flair which Nagashaurya spoke before the release. The opening shot with Pawan Kalyan’s voiceover is one of the best surprise elements in the movie. This concludes Aswathama movie review in brief.
