Assam government to provide one lakh jobs in the near future

Guwahati September 1, : In the context of the Assam government’s coordinated effort to create a total of one lakh jobs in the government sector as soon as possible and the hiring of 12,000 job seekers will be complete by the 22nd of September, officials announced on Thursday.
An Assam official in the government confirmed that a new hiring of 12,000 people will be in addition to the 30,000 who were already recruited in May, bringing the total number of recruits to 42,000.

After a meeting with officials and the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said: “In our concerted push to finish one-lakh jobs in the shortest time possible, we are pleased to announce with you that this day (Thursday) we’ve made a decision to close the recruitment process for 12,000 posts by the 22nd of September.”

About 12,000 job-seekers who have been chosen for appointments through various tests and departments, will be officially accepted into the government service in different categories.

On the 22nd of September, in the program 5200 appointment letters will be handed out to filling the vacant positions of constables and sub-inspectors in the home department.

Apart from that, 256 people who have been chosen to be Assistant Engineers within the Public Works Department will also be given appointment letters.

Additionally appointments letters to be inducted in various capacities in departments like Panchayat and Rural Development, technical education, higher education, health, among others will be handed out in the ceremony.

The Thursday meeting was was attended by Chief Secretary Paban Kumar Borthakur Special Director General of Police G.P.Singh the Chief Secretary’s Principal Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha and other officials.
