Dubai 3rd of September : Star batter KL Rahul may not have scored many runs in the current Asia Cup but former India cricketer Aakash Chopra believes the opener’s performance will be vital to India’s chance of winning the game against Pakistan on Sunday.India and Pakistan will play each other again on Sunday in the ongoing Asia Cup in the Super Four stage.
India beat Pakistan on the 28th of August, when the two teams met in their opening game in the Asia Cup.
Opening batsman KL Rahul who is coming after a niggle hasn’t been in a position to meet expectations.In the game against Pakistan, he scored a golden duck, and played a slow game against Hong Kong.
But, Aakash Chopra hopes Rahul will be able to play well and the batter will play an vital role in getting India through against Pakistan on Sunday.
“People tend to mix Rahul’s IPL numbers with his numbers for Team India.When he is playing for India his strike rate is quite high.
I think that Rahul’s strike will be crucial to India’s chances in the match against Pakistan on Sunday.We hope he is able to play well.Fingers crossed.” added Aakash Chopra exclusively on his homegrown social media platforms, Koo app.
In the meantime, the All-India Senior Selection Committee has selected Axar Patel to replace Ravindra Jadeja in the current Asia Cup.
Jadeja has suffered an injury to his right knee, and is out of the tournament.He is under the care of the BCCI medical team.
Axar Patel, his replacement Axar Patel, had been identified as one of the standbys in the team and will join the squad in Dubai.
