Arunachal declares 2022-23 to be the an year of electronic governance

Itanagar Itanagar, August 19 : Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday announced that his government had declared 2022-23 to be the “year of e-governance”, and also launched the idea of “Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ (government at your doorstep) to bring people closer to the authorities.
The Chief Minister claimed that as part of the ambitious e-governance program 100% electronic office is already in use in the state Civil Secretariat besides adopting e-Assembly and e-Cabinet functions.

“Till this point, we’ve electronically transferred 8,10,350 files via electronic offices and I have to say that the process of moving files has become more transparent and quick.It has also increased accountability since it’s now simple to determine in the which department or on which table the file is currently pending,” he said.

The Chief Minister, while addressing the two-day Regional Conference on ‘Bringing Citizens and Government closer through Administrative Reforms”, said that up to the present, we have held 17 e-Pragati reviews, in which we have reviewed and speeded up the progress of more than 200 schemes and projects with deputy commissioners as well as department heads.

Khandu further stated that the government has identified 22 sectors to be taking a step towards boarding via the e-office platform.

the rest of the offices , including the ones in the district have been instructed to be on board by the end of October this year.

He said that more than 1000 “Sarkar Aapke Dwar” camps were held in the past five years, bringing benefits to over 12 lakh individuals.

The Union Minister of State (Independent charge) for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh announced that the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DAR and the PG) has signed an Memorandum of Understanding with Arunachal the Pradesh government.

According to the MoU in the MoU, the DAR & PG would collaborate with the state government to create an District Good Governance Portal for monitoring the performance of every district monthly.

It will also aid in measuring performance, as well as helping the state in upgrading of the e-office version in the order of a gradual process the minister from the central government said.

Singh added that the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) under DAR & PG would organise Mid-Career Building Programmes in Governance to 500 officials of Arunachal Pradesh Administrative Services in the next five years.

The Regional Conferences are held with the intention of bringing both state and national level organizations together with other stakeholders like media, intelligence, NGOs and others.together on the same platform to exchange experiences in the development and application of best governance practices.

Senior officials of the state and central government responsible for implementing sound governance practices, as well as officials from the cutting-edge level took part in the Conference.

This is the first occasion the regional conference is held in the northeast of India.
