Jaipur : , Nov 23, 2003 – The Rajasthan BJP strongly opposed the appointment of six media advisers to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, and called it unconstitutional.Gehlot appointed six MLAs to serve as advisors on Monday.
The MLAs include Dr Jitendra Singh and Dr Rajkumar Sharma.Dr Abrar is also involved.
Rajendra Rathore, BJP’s deputy leader of the opposition, stated that these positions were constitutional.He has also written a letter asking Governor Kalraj Maishra to raise questions about the appointment.
Rathore has actually warned against taking the matter to court.
He stated that the CM had simply distributed the posts in order to please dissatisfied factions.
He said that Article 191A in Indian Constitution prohibits the appointment of advisors to post for profit.Such appointments cannot be made.
