The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission has issued notification for the elections of the Mayor and two Deputy Mayors in Eluru.It announced that the elections for the Mayor and Deputy Mayors of Eluru will be held on July 30.
The SEC issued notification made it clear that it will appoint the second deputy mayor and the second vice chairman in 11 corporations, 75 municipalities and city panchayats in the state on the same day.The SEC notification said that the election process for the second deputy mayor and the second vice-chairman is indirect.The SEC has directed the district collectors and corporation officials to make the necessary arrangements for the special meetings on July 30.
Selected corporators, councillors and ex-officio members are required to provide information by July 26.The government has already issued orders to appoint two deputy mayors and two vice-chairmen in all corporations and municipalities across the state.
The notification was issued to hold a special meeting as the government asking the SEC to take up the selection of the second deputy mayor and second vice-chairmen.
