The TDP leaders in the Kuppam constituency approached the Andhra Pradesh High court seeking to provide police security to TDP candidates contesting in the Municipal elections.Andhra Pradesh DGP Gautam Sawang has been directed by the High Court to provide police security to TDP candidates, polling booths and voters in Gurjala and Dachapalli municipal elections.
Also, it clarified that additional forces should be deployed to provide security.In addition, the High Court directed the SEC to telecast the election through webcasting.
TDP candidates have repeatedly accused the ruling YCP party leaders of making threats.Against this backdrop, the TDP candidates approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court to protest against the YCP leaders.
They asked the High Court to telecast the election process via webcasting.TDP candidates have filed a petition seeking protection for voters.
High Court advocates Narra Srinivas and Muppala Balakrishna argued on their behalf.
Elections to the Gram Panchayats will be held on November 14 and the results will be announced on the same day.Polling in the Nellore municipalities and corporations will be conducted on November 15 and the results would be announced on November 17.Polling for the previously cancelled ZPTC and MPTC seats will be held on November 16 and the results will be declared on November 18.
