The YSRCP government received a huge shock from the Andhra Pradesh High Court over the ZPTC and MPTC elections held in the state.The High Court on Friday issued a sensational judgment quashing the process of the Parishad elections.
The High Court said that the AP SEC has not followed the orders of the Supreme Court.Justice M Satyanarayana Murthy ruled that four weeks election code was not implemented at that time.
The AP High court said the Election Commission had applied the Supreme Court judgment as they wished.The Supreme Court ruled that it was unacceptable to say that the SEC failed to read and understand the Supreme court verdict.
The High court recalled that the Supreme Court clearly mentioned in the judgment to give four weeks time for elections.
The High Court said that even a common man who can read, write and understand the English language can understand the judgment of the Supreme Court.
But the AP SEC, Neelam Sawhney, who had previously served as the Chief Secretary to the Government, failed to understand the Supreme Court verdict in an exact way.
The Supreme Court ruled that it was “surprising” that she did not understand the Supreme Court judgment.It remains to be seen what is going to happen next in AP politics.
