AP HC division bench issues stay on single judge verdict over Parishad polls

The AP High Court division bench has given a stay on the single judge orders on the Parishad elections in Andhra Pradesh.The AP State Election Commission has challenged the single judge orders on the Parishad polls in the AP High court Division Bench.

Previously, the single bench judge had issued orders cancelling the Parishad elections in Andhra Pradesh because the state election commission did not impose four weeks of election code in AP before the Parishad elections.

Also, the High court single judge said that the elections were held contrary to the Supreme court orders.

However, the State Election Commission challenged these orders in the High court.AP High Court division bench today heard the petition filed by the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission.

The High Court has directed that the counting and the results should not be declared.

The High court adjourned the next hearing to July 7.The MPTC and ZPTC polls were held in the AP on May 21 this year.The TDP, BJP and Janasena leaders have filed petitions in the High court regarding the process of the Parishad polls.
