The Andhra Pradesh state government has decided to implement the 10 per cent reservation in jobs as well as in education for the economically backward sections of the society(EWS).On July 27, 2019, the state government issued a directive providing a 10 per cent reservation in educational opportunities for EWS section people.
In addition to this, the state government has now decided to provide a 10 per cent reservation in job opportunities.To this end, the state government recently issued orders finalizing the duty policies on EWS reservations.
People who have the maximum annual family income of less than Rs 8 lakhs are eligible for this.
Along with this, one-third of the ten per cent reservation made under the ‘EWS’ category is reserved for women belonging to EWS categories.
CM Jagan ordered the respective Tehsildars to issue EWS certificates to those who are eligible.In 2019, the central government has decided to provide 10 per cent reservation to the economically backward sections (EBS) who are exempted from the reservation category.
Later, CM Jagan issued orders providing 10 per cent reservation to EWS categories in educational opportunities.Now, the govt decided to introduce the 10 per cent reservation for EWS in education and employment categories.
