The Andhra Pradesh state government plans to make skill development training colleges available in each parliamentary constituency within a year to employ the youth in Andhra Pradesh.The Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) will build 23 skill development colleges across the state called ‘YSR Centers’ worth Rs 460 crore.
APSSDC MD N Bangarraju said that the construction responsibility of these colleges is vested with the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), AP Police Housing Corporation and Roads and Buildings construction department.Out of 23 skill development colleges, the R&B department would build ten colleges, six by the APIIC and seven colleges would be built by the AP Police Housing Corporation.
The other two colleges will be built by the Union Ministry of Transportation.Skill Training Centers are being developed on an area of 5 acres in each Parliamentary constituency at an estimated cost of about Rs.20 crore.The centres are designed to have six classrooms, two labs, two workshops, a startup lab, admin and staff rooms.
Also, hostels will be built to accommodate 126 people.The government plans to train at least 1,920 people from each training centre per year and provide employment.
