AP govt orders probe into Simhachalam assets

The Andhra Pradesh state government has ordered a probe into the Simhachalam assets.The Endowment department has identified large-scale land irregularities from 2016 to 2018 in the wake of recent inspections by officials at the Simhachalam Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Temple and MANSAS Trust.

The state government has set up a committee comprising Chandrakumar, who is working as an Additional Commissioner in the Endowment Department, Vijayawada Durga temple EO Bhramaramba and Visakhapatnam Deputy Commissioner Pushpavarthan, has been appointed for the preliminary inquiry.The committee conducted inspections over a week and submitted a 108-page report to the Commissioner of Endowment department.The inquiry reports stated that 862.22 acres of land are missing from the Temple assets list.

The AP government has directed the vigilance and enforcement department to complete the investigation within three months and ordered to submit a detailed report to the government.Also, the state govt said that the report should have appropriate suggestions on the further steps to be taken.

The orders state that the Commissioner of the Endowment department will be appointed as the nodal officer.Recently, the Chief Secretary of the Endowment department, Vanimohan, issued orders related to this.
