Andhra Pradesh state government officials have told the National Monitoring Committee on Compensation and Rehabilitation (NMCR) that the Andhra Pradesh state government is acting responsibly towards the evacuees of the Polavaram project.They said that the evacuees have been provided permanent rehabilitation.

On this occasion, the state government officials said a radar survey was being conducted for the displaced, and 16,000 people had been relocated to permanent residences.

Recently, a video conference was held under the auspices of NMCR Chairman Ajay Tirki.

Department of Water Energy, Polavaram Project Authority, AP government officials, Pentapati Pullaru, lawyer Sravankumar and others attended the virtual meet.Andhra Pradesh officials said 373 villages in Andhra Pradesh would have to be relocated due to the construction of the Polavaram project.

On this occasion, the state government officials said the allegations of risk made by opposition leaders due to the cofferdam were incorrect.Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy said that the state government is taking appropriate precautions regarding the evacuees of the Polavaram project.

Also, he said that the state government is planning to give Rs 3 lakh to each of the evacuees.
