APEDB CEO JVN Subramaniam said the Andhra Pradesh state government aims to increase exports from the state to $ 33.7 billion by 2030, currently worth $ 16.8 billion through four ports.As part of this, national and international exporters will be briefed during the ‘Vanijya Utsav’ to be held in Vijayawada on September 21 and 22.

Ports in our state currently have a cargo capacity of 253.89 million metric tons (MMT) in 2020–21.Of this, the Union government-run Visakhapatnam port has a cargo capacity of 127 MMT.The state’s Gangavaram port has a capacity of 64 MMT, Kakinada port has 18 MMT, and Krishnapatnam port has 45 MMT.

In 2020–21, Andhra Pradesh ranked second in the country for shipping 159 MMT of cargo through ports.The state of Gujarat tops the list for shipping cargo of 412 MMT.With the availability of four new ports under construction in the state, the freight handling capacity will reach 450 million metric tonnes, said, officials.
