The Andhra Pradesh BJP has announced Puntala Suresh as Badvel by-poll candidate.Hence, Puntala Suresh is all set to enter the ring from the Kadapa district.Suresh’s name was finalized by the AP-BJP supremacy on Thursday.Suresh has worked in ABVP and BJYM for a long time.
In the 2019 Assembly elections, Suresh contested the Railway Koduru Assembly seat and lost.
Dr Venkata Subbaiah, who contested as the YCP candidate from the Badvel constituency won the seat in the 2019 Assembly elections.However, he recently died of illness.Due to this, the assembly has fallen vacant.
With this, the by-election became inevitable in the Badvel constituency.
On the other hand, Janasena announced that it is boycotting the Badvel by-polls.
With this, the BJP decided to contest for this position.The BJP initially announced that it would field a joint candidate from both parties.
The YCP has announced Dr Venkatasubbaiah’s wife, Dr Dasari Sudha as the YCP candidate.
Earlier to Janasena, the TDP announced boycotting the Badvel by-polls.
On October 3, AP BJP chief Somu Veerraju met Kadapa district BJP leaders and decided to field Puntala Suresh.Elections will be held on Oct 30, and votes will be counted on November 2.
