Chief Minister Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy will visit the Polavaram project site on June 6.He will reach the helipad by 10.20 am on Tuesday and interact with the people’s representatives and reach the Polavaram project conference hall by 11.50 am and review till 1 pm.
The Chief Minister will leave for Tadepalli at 1.40 pm.Eluru Joint collector B.Lavanya Veni inspected the project site and arrangements for the Chief Minister’s tour.She said that the Chief Minister will review the upper cofferdam, lower cofferdam, diaphragm wall, earth-cum-rockfill dam and other works.
The collector instructed officials to arrange a photo exhibition of project works besides arranging barricades, tents and drinking water facilities.
She also directed officials to arrange a helipad at the site.She suggested that police officials tighten security arrangements.
Eluru district superintendent of police D.Mary Prashanthi, assistant collector Apurva Bharat, Sripuja, project chief engineer Sudhakar Babu, RDOs K.Penchala Kishore, Jhansi Rani, horticulture deputy director Ravi Kumar, Thasildar Sumathi and others were present.
The Chief Minister’s visit comes after the Union Ministry for Jal Shakthi has agreed to provide ad hoc assistance of Rs 17,144 crore for the Polavaram project works.
