Minister said that the panel was created to solve the problem and promised that the government would carefully review its recommendations.

According to him, distributors and associations have brought their issues to the attention of government officials and demanded an increase in ticket prices.Similar requests were also made by other segments of the movie industry.

All these requests have been taken into consideration. He said that the committee will report back to him and that they would take the appropriate action.

He stated that the committee was formed following the High Court’s advice and clarified that there are no delaying tactics in forming the committee.According to him, the intention of the government was to make entertainment affordable for all.

Minister denied government targeting of theatre managers and stated that only those running theatres in breach of regulations or without permission were being targeted. He stated that action had been taken against 130 theatres.

This has nothing to do with Government Order 35, he said.

The government was able to reduce ticket prices under this GO.On December 14, the High Court suspended the GO, but the government appealed against it.The court later ruled theater owners could apply for a revision of the ticket price to the government.

Nani’s comparison of cinema tickets prices in the State to prices at kirana shops was criticized by the minister. The minister hoped the actor would make another statement that will be taken seriously the next time he does so.

Siddharth was also asked about his right to make comments on Andhra Pradesh’s ticket prices. He may have commented on Stalin, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.”He lives in Chennai and pays taxes so how does he concern himself with ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh,” asked he.
