New Delhi, Aug 14 : BJP Minority Morcha president Jamal Siddiqui on Sunday alleged that the Vice Chancellor (VC) of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Tariq Mansoor did not want to meet him to accept the flag of India.
Siddiqui said to IANS that he was seeking an appointment with Mansoor to display a tricolour created by Kashmiri women with an appeal to take part in the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav’.

“.but Mansoor was not willing to sit down with me in order to accept the ‘Tiranga’ flag.By his hatred of the flag of Pakistan, he not only insulted Muslims but also displayed his love and affection for the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah,” he declared.

Siddiqui was keen to show the Tricolour to AMU VC party minority morcha plans to ask minority religious institutions and places to display the Tricolour at their premises in the “Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in the context of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav’.

“I have written to the AMU VC on August 6 to request an appointment for this morning (August 14) to present him with ‘Tiranga’.When I went to greet him, security officials came up to me and told me he had not made an appointment.

It is a shame that a VC receiving a salary and other benefits through the taxpayers’ money of our country is refusing to acknowledge the “Tiranga” flag and take part in the celebration of 75 years of the nation’s Independence,” he said.

In a statement, calling his refusal to recognize the national flag embarrassing, Siddiqui alleged that the act shows the VC’s love for Jinnah and disregard for the flag of the nation and the country.

BJP Minority Morcha leaders and workers have been offering the flag of India to religious institutions and institutions with the request to raise the Tricolour on their premises.

On the 12th of August Siddiqui handed over the Tricolour Maulana Salman Bijnori, and Maulana Munir Nazim of Darul Uloom Deoband in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh.

“Workers of BJP minority morcha are requesting religious and community leaders to raise the Tricolour at the mosque or gurdwara, church, and other institutions to become part of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahostav”,” he added.
