Aligarh, Dec 8, : Aligarh Muslim University has been ranked A’ with a Cumulative Grad Point Average (CGPA of 3.24) in the National Assessment and Accreditation Council’s (NAAC) review that was held in November.
The AMU NAAC grading will be valid for five year and is based upon the Revised Accreditation and Assessment Framework, which was launched by the NAAC July 2017.This represents a paradigm shift in the accreditation process and makes it ICT enabled, objective and transparent.

It also makes it scalable and robust.

“The NAAC Grade “A” is a result a tremendous amount of work by our faculty, students, and is an important recognition of AMU’s ongoing commitment to being a leader in research and teaching.

We will march ahead with dedication and commitment,” said Prof Tariq Mansoor, Vice Chancellor.

He said that AMU has been ranked highly in international and national rankings, cementing its status as one of India’s top public universities.

I am grateful to all University employees, teachers, alumni, non-teaching staff, and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell core/technical, for their support in improving and scoring higher this great seat of learning.

Prof Mansoor stated that AMU and other public institutions have a significant role in research and development as well as in policy-making for the nation.

Professor Asad Ullah Khan, Director, IQAC, stated that AMU scored 3.24 out 4 (almost 81%) on a seven-point scale compared with five points in the previous cycle grading.The NAAC assessment was split into two parts: the Quantitative Matrices and Qualitative Matrices.These were separately evaluated by the NAAC Peer Team.We missed the A+ score by 0.02 marks (i.e.0.5 percent).

He said: “The NAAC grade, university rankings and the Vice Chancellor’s administration have been possible because of the efforts of the vice Chancellor and his administrative that has created an active community of AMU faculty members who are studying and researching in some of the most cutting-edge research areas.”

Before the NAAC team visited, mock teams from the University had visited various departments, faculties and offices.
