New Delhi, December 13 : .The Rajya Sabha was adjourned to Tuesday at 2 PM amid chaos over 12 suspended MPs. After the House had opened at 11:01 a.m.on the first day of the session, the opposition demanded that the suspension be revoked.However, the House was adjourned until 12 noon.
The opposition continued to make its demands and when the House reassembled, it was moved up until noon.
Syed Naseer Hussain and Akhilesh Prasad Sing, Phulo Devi Netam, Phulo Devi Webam, Chhaya Vema, Ripun Boara and Rajmani Patel are suspended by the Congress.
Mallikarjun Kharge (leader of the opposition) claimed in Rajya Sabha, that the government had forced the opposition into disrupting proceedings by refusing to reconsider the suspension of 12 MPs.
Kharge stated, “The government does not consider its decision and you, the chairman, are the custodians of the House.We request that this suspension be lifted.” “The government’s insistence is driving the opposition to interrupt the House by declaring that they will walk out.”
Chairman M.Venkaiah Naidu adjourned the House till 12 noon and said that both the sides should resolve the matter.
“Is this the way to run the House? House adjourned till noon,” he said.
Earlier, Congress Deputy leader Anand Sharma had said, “The leader of the House is here and we request that the suspension be revoked.” This was also supported by DMK MP Tiruchi Siva.
