Bengaluru August 18, : Following the hijab dispute The Karnataka education sector is ready for another battle with the state Wakf Board demanding that the education department allow the celebration of Eid Milad in schools like the Ganesh festival. Education Minister B C Nagesh stated on Thursday that no religious event is permitted in schools.
The permission hasn’t been granted so far, and the request of the Wakf Board will not be taken into consideration.
Nagesh claimed that the celebration of the Ganesh festival was not implemented by the BJP government.
The gods of Lord Ganesh were kept in schools since the pre-independence era.
The Wakf Board under the chairmanship of Shafi Saadi had requested that the education department set aside a space in schools to hold Namaz.
Shafi Saadi demanded “there should be a chance to celebrate of celebrations of our faith.Children of all religions should have the same rights.”
“During the hijab controversy, we clarified that misperceptions need to be quelled by creating awareness of religious issues.Similar to the way that the way the Ganesh festival, which is celebrated every year and celebrated, a space must be set aside for the practice of Islam,” he declared.
