Telangana government postpones all exams till Dasara following the IMD warning about heavy rains till October 22.
Due to the prediction of heavy rains in the coming four days by the India Meteorological Department, the Telangana government postponed all the school and college education exams till Dasara.
The IMD earlier issued a warning that heavy and moderate rains will continue till October 22 in Hyderabad and some other parts of the city.The decision came from the Telangana education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy.
It has given a sigh of relief to above five lakh students across Telangana.
However, several students requested to cancel the examinations considering the havoc happened in the state owing to Corona Virus and now heavy rains across Telangana.
Although the postponement has given some relief to a few students, many are opting for cancellation from the government.Nevertheless, the government is not at all interested in cancelling the examinations, and a new announcement is likely to come after the rains have settled down.
Meanwhile, due to heavy rains, the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad has also postponed all UG and PG regular and supplementary examinations scheduled on October 21 and 22.
