Mumbai, December 27, : , Alia Bhatt, a Bollywood actress has been selected as PETA’s 2021 Person-of-the Year for her support of animal-friendly fashion. Phool is a company that makes vegan leather from discarded temple flowers.
Ed-a-Mamma is a vegan line of kidswear that won the PETA India Fashion Award in 2021 for its efforts to foster children’s love for nature and animals.
Alia has a reputation for advocating for pets and is often heard calling for stricter animal protection laws.
Alia has also appeared in an India-based pro-adoption People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals campaign (PETA), which helped felines as well.
Sachin Bangera, Director, Celebrity and Public Relations at PETA India, stated that Alia Bhatt was not only helping vegan fashion, but is also inspiring the next generation of animal lovers.
He said, “Alia does not hesitate to speak out, regardless of whether she is rallying her supporters to adopt a cat or a dog, or calling for justice on animal cruelty.”
