Chennai, Nov 29 : , Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu K.Palaniswami, AIADMK Joint Coordinator, said Monday that the party’s executive would decide whether to appeal against Madras High Court’s order regarding the residence of Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa’s ‘Veda Nilayam.On Thursday, the Tamil Nadu government was ordered by the high court to hand over Poes Gardens, Chennai, to her legal heirs J.Deepak and J.Deepa.It also criticized the government for not allowing another memorial to be built for the former Chief Minister, while she was at the Marina beach memorial.
J.Jayalalithaa’s legal heirs had challenged the order of the AIADMK government to convert the former Chief Minister’s residence into a museum.
Palaniswami, speaking to reporters at the AIADMK Office in Salem, stated that the appeal will be taken after hearing all the views from the state executive.
J.Deepa, J.Deepak and J.Deepak filed separate applications to the Chennai District Collector asking him to give the keys of Veda Nilayam’ to them in light of the court verdict.
Dr.J.Vijaya Rani was the District Collector.She told reporters that she would seek the opinion of the state government and make a decision.
The Madras High Court had ordered the Collector to handover the property within three weeks.
