Adani group receives provisional approval for two renewable energy-related projects in SL

By Susitha Fernando Colombo 17 August, Colombo : Adani Green Energy has been granted provisional approvals to two wind power projects in northern province, with an investment of more than $ 500 million the Minister for Energy in Sri Lanka Kanchana Wijesekara has announced.

Wijesekara announced in his tweet that he met with officials of Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and Sustainable Development Authority on Tuesday to discuss the development of renewable energy projects.

Adani Green Energy was issued preliminary approvals for two wind farms of 286 MW in Mannar and 234 MW in Pooneryn for an investment of more than 500 million dollars, he added.

“21 of 46 Projects that were delayed because of CEB Act amendments will enter into PP agreements next week.26 Renewable projects from EOIs which were granted Provisional Approvals that will be expedited with grid approval and transmission plans as well as others to be assessed in 30 days time,” Minister said in another tweet.
