ACB raids 68 locations in K’taka

Bengaluru : , Wednesday, November 24, 2014 : .On Wednesday, the Anti-Corruption Bureau officers raided 60 locations in Karnataka to arrest government officials on charges of possessing disproportionate assets.
The raids target 15 government officials working in different departments.

ACB sources claim that the officers discovered documents containing huge assets that were not related to their incomes during the preliminary searches.

RTO officers, executive engineers, revenue inspectors and project managers are all targeted in raids.These officers were employed by the Revenue department, BBMP and agricultural departments, as well as PWD.A raid is also being made on a physiotherapist at a government hospital.

ACB sources claimed that Rajashekar, a physiotherapist at Yelahanka’s government hospital, had purchased three BDA sites, two revenue sites, and five acres of land in Doddaballapur, taluk close to Bengaluru.ACB received complaints about the raids.

Multiple complaints about corruption and wealth accumulation that is not proportional to their income sources have led to the raiding of various locations in Bengaluru Kalaburagi, Davanagere Belagavi, Mangaluru Districts.

The search team consists of more than 400 officers, including 8 Superintendents of Police and 100 officers.There are also 300 staff members.
