Mumbai, Nov 26, : Bollywood actor Abhishek Bacchan said that he had to let go of the vanity of being an actor in his hotel room to become ‘Bob Biswas. The actor will play the title role in the upcoming thriller ‘Bob Biwas’, which is a spinoff of the 2012 film ‘Kahaani’.
Abhishek answered IANS questions about the most difficult part of preparing for his character.He said, “My first challenge in playing Bob Biswas was to let go of my vanity as an actor and step into the exact look of Bob.he doesn’t have any vanity whatsoever!” Actors are trained to be aware of their appearance.It is a visual medium at end of the day, so I want to look my best.Look at Bob.so I had no choice but to overcome that! I still remember the first time that I met Chitrangada (Singh’s female protagonist) and we had a table read together before the shooting.It was my first time working with her, and she was very excited about the entire collaboration.She liked Sujoy’s work, and was looking forward to working alongside me.Our first day of shooting was the next thing.
He continued to recount the incident: “I came out with my hair and make up and when she saw me, her reaction was like .’ehhhh!” It was not flattering! You know why that didn’t happen? That means that I am convincingly portraying Bob Biswas, and I am doing my part!
Sujoy Ghosh wrote the story and Diya AnnapurnaGhosh directed it.Paran Bandopadhyay and Tina Desai are also featured in the film.
Abhishek shared a glimpse into Bob’s character, saying, “He has come from coma and here is he having a nice family with a wife, two children, and a middle-class household.The journey begins when his past comes crashing down and he has to deal with it.He is full of internal conflict.It was fascinating to build the character brick-by-brick because he doesn’t have any past memories.
“So, he could have any character.there is no way to play Bob in sync to the earlier Bob we saw in ‘Kahaani”.
I should also mention that I didn’t watch the film “Kahaani” initially.I watched it later, while we were all locked down.
The film is so fresh and original that Bob Biswas could have been the film’s name instead.
