Mumbai 12 Aug : Bollywood celebrities such as Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Tamannaah Bhatia, Shefali Shah, and many more kicked off the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne to its physical manifestation in Australia with the 13th edition.
Other celebrities who were part of this include singer Sona Mohapatra former cricketer and former captain of India Kapil Dev as well as film makers Anurag Kashyap, Kabir Khan, Aparna Sen, Nikkhil Advani and Shoojit Sircar.

The celebration, which began on the 12th of August (August 12) and will end on the 20th of August.

In a statement, Abhishek Bachchan, who is “absolutely enjoying” the moment he is in this moment in Melbourne and is eager to see the premier of Manmarziyaan, his film with film with co-star Taapsee Pannu’s new film ‘Dobaaraa’.

The actors were on the podium in the presence of an audience that was specially invited to announce this year’s program schedule with Dobaaraa as the film that will be the opening night.

Other events planned in addition to the screening of more than 120 films are the Independence Day Celebrations of India and a variety of panel discussions as well as other events specially planned.

In response to questions regarding the South and Hindi film debate at the festival the actress Tamannaah Bhatia said, “I believe this debate is exclusive to India when I travel abroad, I never notice people separating the two, they just call it Indian cinema.This is true even at IFFM.”

She believes that the public would like to watch pan India films as more of these are being produced and is being appreciated by everyone.
