A British report on Covid-19 states that the virus spread is more in the hospital’s cleaning staff than Intensive Care medical staff.
A Covid-19 report from the University of Birmingham in England proves that Coronavirus has spread more in cleaning and other healthcare departments than ICU staff.
The reports also state that white colleagues are less prone to the virus compared to black, Asian and minority ethnicity.
The research was carried at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, which has several hospitals and above 20,000 staff.
The researchers thought ICU staff would be more at risk, but to their astonishment, cleaning and other healthcare departments are more affected with the virus, said a professor at the University of Birmingham.
A few more studies in this regard suggest that the infection rate in patients is high at the beginning of their illness.
Consequently, the ground staff who cares about the patients at the beginning will be more at risk.when the patients are moved to ICU after some time, they are less likely to spread the virus to the Intensive Care staff.
Also, the availability of quality PPE kits and familiarity with more preventive steps in emergency rooms are said to be the other factors for the result.
