Moscow 5th of September : Moscow will take serious retaliatory steps if the EU officially introduces visa restrictions for Russian citizens, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. Russia is keeping a close eye on the EU decision and the retaliation, whether symmetrical or not, will certainly serve Russia’s needs, Peskov told a local television show on Sunday without revealing what possible retaliatory actions could be.
Foreign Ministers of the EU member states have agreed to end the visa facilitation agreement that the EU is in with Russia, EU top diplomat Josep Borrell announced on Wednesday.
The new law, which is yet to be made legal it will drastically reduce the quantity of new visas issued by EU member states for Russian citizens, and make the process of obtaining the visa harder, Xinhua news agency reported.
