Sharjah 30 August : Afghanistan produced an impressive performance in the bowling department to limit Bangladesh to 127/7 in the Group B match of the Asia Cup 2022 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium this Tuesday.After winning the toss and choosing to bat first Bangladesh batters were unable to start for the majority of the game on a dusty surface that was able to handle a fair quantity of grip and twist.
The Afghanistan spin twins Mujeeb Ur Rahman (3/16) and Rashid Khan (3/22) bowled tight lengths and lines and turned their webs in the powerplay and in the middle-overs, respectively.
At the time that Mahmudullah (25 off 27) left the field in the 15.4 overs, Bangladesh were 89-6 and it appeared that they might fold for less than 100.In the end, Mosaddek Hossain’s 31-ball 48 and Mehidy’s 12-ball 14 assisted Bangladesh in some way of recovery and helped Bangladesh to a respectable total of 127/7 in 20 overs.
