New Delhi, Aug 28 : With the Congress on Sunday announcing the date for its presidential elections, the anticipation of who will be the next President is increasing.The Congress Working Committee – the party’s top decision-making authority this Sunday approved the election schedule which will hold the elections to be held on the 17th of October and the counting on the 19th of October in an online meeting attended by the party’s chief Sonia Gandhi – who is traveling to the United States for a medical check-up and her two daughters Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi who are with her.
G23 chief Anand Sharma, who had recently resigned as the chief of an official party panel for the forthcoming Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, also joined in the virtual.

The schedule was announced following approval by the CWC, Congress Election Authority Chairman Madhusudan Mistry said that the date of notification of notice is on September 22.Nominations can be submitted between 11 a.m.until 3 p.m.from September 24 through 30, and scrutinizing will take place at the beginning of October.The last day of the withdrawal deadline is October 8 and the day of voting is between 10 a.m.until 4 p.m.on the 17th of October at any PCC headquarters.
