Hyderabad 26 Aug : The day following the Telangana High Court’s order that the state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay on Friday resumed his Praja Sangrama Yatra in Jangaon district, even the state government made an appeal in the court to stop the padyatra.A single-judge bench was suspended on Thursday an order of the police that directed the BJP to stop immediately the padyatra.
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government has filed an appeal against the bench’s single-judge decision.The government claims that the continuation of padyatra could cause in the breach of peace.
It has demanded the immediate the hearing of the appeal.
In the meantime, after a break of three days, Sanjay resumed the padyatra in Station Ghanpur constituency.
He was joined by a large group of BJP supporters and workers.
He continued his Yatra in Jangaon district, where it was stopped due to his arrest on Tuesday.
The court suspended the order sent by Wardhannapet ACP asking the BJP to stop the padyatra as soon as possible in the light of the tensions in Jangaon district.
The ACP declared that there is no permission to conduct a padyatra in the district.
They also warned the leaders that if they continue with the padyatra, legal action would be taken.
The BJP had contested the decision in the court and the judge dismissed it, declaring it as unconstitutional.
Police had said in the report in the notice that in the name of padyatra the BJP leaders were making provocative remarks.
The officer from the police also pointed out the fact that in the name of Dharma Deeksha, a significant amount of members of the party were recruited from other districts.
“In the light of your provocative remarks and your plans to host Deeksha with massive gatherings from different districts, there is concern of breaking of the peace in the area , resulting in serious issues with law and order,” reads the notice.
Sanjay was detained on Tuesday as he was planning to take part in a protest against the police action against BJP workers in Hyderabad on Monday, for organising a protest at the home of TRS MLC K.Kavitha over her allegations of involvement in Delhi liquor scam.
Sanjay who is an MP of the Parliament of Karimnagar was transferred to Karimnagar.He however, has been under house arrest.
In response to Thursday’s court order, Sanjay said the government has failed once more in its efforts to stop the Padyatra.
The padyatra is scheduled to end in Warangal on the 27th of August with an open meeting that will be addressed by the BJP’s National President J.P.Nadda.
Sanjay was the one who launched the third stage of padyatra on the 2nd of August to draw attention to the he says are the shortcomings of the TRS government.
The 3rd phase of the yatra is expected to extend for 325 kilometers in five districts namely Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri, Nalgonda, Jangaon, Hamankonda and Warangal
